Career and Technology
Comanche ISD offers career and technology education programs in agriculture, automotive technology, home economics, business and marketing. Admission to these programs is based on interest, age appropriateness and class space available.
Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurobiological in origin. Comanche ISD offers a wealth of information and resources for parents and children who find themselves facing dislexia.  Please read about what we have to offer and contact our coordinator if you have any questions or concerns.
The goal of Comanche ISD is for students to create work that reflects the professional quality that the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students requires. “Students who participate in services designed for gifted students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication as evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that reflect individuality and creativity and are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment. High school graduates who have participated in services for gifted students will have produced products and performances of professional quality as part of their program services.” All kindergarten students are screened for admission to the program using a nonverbal intelligence test. Nominations into the program may be made at any grade level by a parent, student, teacher, or other community member. Admission to the program is based on test results, surveys, and planned activities. In grades 1-5, the students are serviced in a pullout program in which students participate in tasks based on the Texas Performance Standards Project.
